The best cities in the world offer an inimitable blend of beauty, history, culture, and cuisine. They’re the ones you’ve heard of and maybe even dream of visiting. The city’s breathtaking architecture, friendly locals, and delicious tapas bars make it a popular destination for travelers from all over the world, but there’s so much more to discover. And here are some of The magic of Barcelona that you may want to check on.
The Barri Gòtic
On the whole, Barcelona is a city that tourists and locals alike can find worthy of a visit, but it has a special kind of magic that those who remember it fondly will find hard to explain. For me, that magic is Barri Gòtic. The name is easy enough to understand; when you’re there, you’ll feel as though you’ve visited a different world—a world of art and folklore and music, full of motion and color and life.
The Casa Milà
The Casa Milà is a palace designed by Catalan architect Antoni Gaudí (1852-1926). It is located in Barcelona and is often referred to as La Pedrera (meaning “The Stone Quarry”) because of its rough and irregular exterior. Designed to be as handsome as possible, Gaudí had it built in 1882 as a private home for the Ferran family’s patron. The palace and its gardens were set for the family’s everyday life and a place to host entertaining visitors.
The Parc Güell: Gaudí's Surrealist Park
Architect Antoni Gaudí designed the Parc Güell and was completed in 1926. Like so many of Gaudí’s buildings, it defies logic by combining elements that are completely unlike each other. It is composed of a series of tunnels, some above ground and others underground, that are connected by bridges and buildings. The park is considered one of the most original and innovative works of 20th-century architecture and was declared a World Heritage Site in 1983.
The Camp Nou
Barcelona is a beautiful city known for its architecture, culture and is one of Spain’s most popular tourist destinations. The city is packed full of history and architecture and is home to the oldest football stadium in the world, the Camp Nou, and the world-famous FC Barcelona football team.
The Scenic Views and Art Museums in Montjuïc
The town of Montjuïc, located in Barcelona’s inner city, is a spectacular place where nature and art meet. With its amazing views and a wide variety of museums and galleries, one can spend a long time in this place.
The La Barceloneta
La Barceloneta is one of the most beautiful areas in Barcelona, located in the center of the city. It has a very special architectural style and architecture, wonderful streets and the city’s best beaches. La Barceloneta has been part of the city of Barcelona since the 17th century.
The Mercat de la Boqueria
The Mercat de la Boqueria is one of Barcelona’s most emblematic establishments and central places. It is located in the Barri Gotic, in the Gothic Quarter. It is known as the most typical market of the city, where you can get some of the most typical products of the Catalan people. It is a very important part of the city’s history since it has been there since the XV century.
Barcelona is the kind of place where you can spend hours walking around exploring all kinds of cool things, without being bothered by the crowds or the tourists.
