Are you planning to visit France? Do you want to experience a never-before Parisian trip? If yes, this post is for you.

Regardless of the time of the year, Paris is among the most favorite destination not just in France, but also in the entire European continent. When it comes to tourism, Paris is one of the top destinations in my bucket list.

For first-timers, let me give you the most amazing places in Paris. I bet you will also fell in love with these destinations the way I did. So, let’s get started!

Eiffel Tower

My Parisian adventure is never complete without visiting the iconic Eiffel Tower. This symbolic tower built by Gustave Eiffel with a purpose of commemorating the French Revolution centenary. It is 324 meters high and considered one of the world’s most visited monuments with about 7 million visitors per year.

Palace of Versailles

Do you want to visit a 17th-century old palace? If so, then head your way to the Palace of Versailles. It symbolized the military power of France during that century and was the seat of the Kingdom of France’s political power from 1682 to 1789. I found terraces, gardens, and a huge complex of buildings while exploring the palace. I recommend this place to those who want to be captivated by lavish decorations, Renaissance art pieces, and exquisite furniture.

Colonnes de Buren

Also known as “Les Deux Plateaux”, the Colonnes de Buren was created by a French artist back in the 1980s. This artistic installation offers a dozen of candy-striped cylindrical blocks with varying heights. As a stroll around during the spring season, I enjoyed some of the city’s best magnolia blossoms.

Paris Pantheon

Paris does have a Pantheon, too! The structure was originally built as a church in the 18th century dedicated to Saint Genevieve. Visiting this beautiful destination, I found the Foucault’s Pendulum, which is a 19th-century swinging pendulum clock and is 67 meters high.

Louvre Museum

The Louvre Museum is the world’s most visited art museum, situated in the heart of Paris. Formerly a royal palace, this historic building has a total area of 210,000 square meters, and the 60,600 square meters of it is dedicated to exhibitions. The collection of this museum is divided into eight departments: graphic arts, paintings, objects of art, sculptures of modern, Renaissance, and Middle Ages times, Islamic art, Roman, Etruscan and Greek, Oriental antiquities, and Egyptian antiquities.

Notre Dame Cathedral

Notre Dame de Paris is a Roman Catholic cathedral that was built in 1345. Interestingly, the construction started in 1163. It is situated in the eastern part of the Ile de la Cite. The cathedral has a number of portals that are surrounded by gargoyles and sculptures. I find climbing the top of the towers a bit exhausting, but the panoramic view is worthwhile and breathtaking.

Square Marcel Bleustein Blanchet

Since I want to witness the best views of the Sacre-Coeur, I visited the famous Square Marcel Bleustein Blanchet. I enjoyed the wisteria through late spring. I recommend this place to those who love having a picnic with friends. It is a patch of land where one of the lost windmills of the city used to stand.

Jardin du Luxembourg

For a calm yet mesmerizing spot while in Paris, visiting the Jardin du Luxembourg is worthwhile. It is close to the Paris Pantheon. It was built in the 17th century under Catherine de Medici’s order. One of the good things about these destinations is that it is open to the public and free to visit.
