According to the story, it all started in the 6th century when an Irish saint, St. Columba, saw the monster himself. According to the story, St. Columba commanded a monk to cross the lake of loch ness to get a boat. Halfway across the lake, a creature suddenly appeared and swiftly moved towards the swimmer. Ready to attack, St. Columba yelled at the creature, “Go no further”, nor touch the man! Go back!” It obeyed the order.
The Legend of the Loch Ness monster began to grow in the year 1933. A couple allegedly saw an enormous dragon-like creature in the Loch Ness lake then disappear into the water. Over the century, reports say there are only a few sightings. Many people believe that Nessie doesn’t exist because of a lack of evidence. But in 1934, an English physician named Robert Kenneth Wilson has captured a photo of the creature “Surgeon’s Photograph.”
The Daily Mail printed the image. It was the first time that the masses saw what the creature looked like. It has a long thin neck, huge body. Many speculated that this was no monster but a marine creature that went extinct millions of years ago. Years later, the photo “Surgeon’s Photograph” proved to be a hoax. In 1994 Christopher Spurling Verified that the photo is not real. He admitted that he was involved in the production of the photo. There have been alleged sightings over the years.
