We all know that music has been one of the most effective ways to relieve stress, pressure, and sadness. It is considered as a helpful therapy to people who have any psychological disorder, problem, or anything else. Besides, there are already millions of songs throughout the time that can correspond to any particular feeling, emotion, or mood. There are happy songs, sad, motivating, and a lot more. Here, we are going to discuss more how music impacts mood and psyche, as well as its effects to oneself.

Music as a Therapy

Music is therapy. The fact is different wellness centers use it as a tool to inspire people who suffer from diseases, either physical, emotional, social, spiritual, and so many more. Also, there are lots of conducted researches that fight for the positive impacts of music to a person.

One of these is the American Music Therapy Association or AMTA. It reported that music could be used as therapy with different programs to achieve the goal of effective and efficient stress management, alleviating pain, and enhancing memory. It may also be a bit surprising, but music can also benefit physical pain. It was justified by The Lancet Trusted Source, a review in 2015 claiming that people who love to listen to music are less likely to feel anxiety and pain before, during, and after an operation. Compared to those who don’t listen to, they feel double the pain.

On the other hand, when it comes to chronic conditions, music can also treat and serve as therapy. This plays a huge role in the overall treatment and recovery. In fact, a review from the World Journal of Psychiatry Trusted Source was able to justify that music as therapy is an effective treatment for different kinds of mood disorders. These can be related to the neurological conditions possessed by anyone. These include dementia, multiple sclerosis, stroke, and Parkinson’s disease.
A total of 25 trials were also able to justify that music as therapy helps treat anxiety and depression, as well as self-esteem, improves mood, and the quality of life.
However, there is also a negative side counterclaiming to this. According to this, a lot of people are still struggling in their lives. They have different concerns, yet it didn’t work. Thus, it made them predict that music does only a little to nothing at all effects.

Now, let us move on to how music affects and boost our moods.

Music as Mood Booster

The next thing about music is that it helps in boosting different moods. While listening to any piece of music or song, it provides a lot of benefits for mood build-up, necessary to make more friends outside.

In my own experience, whenever I feel bad or miserable, I always choose to listen to hyper and motivating music. This helps me calm my mind and thinking. It also helps me to avoid bearing decisions out of a certain mood, which can only result to bad things. In terms of being in love, I tend to hear music with romance. This helps me to have a clearer intention and assurance before entering a relationship. Also, whenever sorrow tries to eat me whole, I turn back to spiritual and motivating music. It helps me to remain calm and silent, asking for guidance from Him for an upcoming battle. Lastly, when I feel angry, I choose to just shut in an area and listen to music. I choose the motivating and inspiring ones since it makes me feel stronger, bolder, and wiser.

That is all for the impacts of music to our moods and psyche. After all, music provides a lot of benefits, and in that case, it deserves the best praises, recognitions, and awards.
