All that you can see in the photos are the happy moments and the good side. However, not everything can be seen through the picture and what it is trying to portray. There are a lot of things behind it, the pains and struggles, the difficulties and sacrifices. There are people who love camping, and in pictures, they seem very happy and enjoying the time, but in reality, there is so much behind it.

This week, we reached out to some Instagram users who take pictures at campgrounds and trailer parks, and we wanted to find out whether the pictures they post on social media reflect what they actually experience. The answer: not always. Pictures can be tricky sometimes. That’s why you might get disappointed when you actually arrive in the area.

Here are other things that you need to know about the downside of camping:

Campsites are Overpriced

There are tons of daytime leisure activities that are cheaper, safer, and more enjoyable than spending money on a roadside campground. The buzz around camping—and how it compares to hiking, boating, fishing, surfing, and other popular outdoor activities—is what makes it so easy to get drawn in. But, once you get there, you’ll realize that not everything is as it seems, and there are plenty of disadvantages to camping that doesn’t show up in pictures. Some campsites are really priced high and expensive. The trend online is making it more popular and more expensive. There are a lot of incidental expenses or little things that you want to do in the area. Camping could be fun but make sure to find a campsite that is good and free or at least affordable based on your budget.

Some Areas are Forbidden for Camping

Camping is a pastime enjoyed by many, including those who enjoy nature and those who like to go without modern luxuries like technology and comforts like hot water and electricity. However, you should be aware that not everything that can be done out in the woods, in the park, or at the beach is legal. Camping is a legal term that refers to camping in a designated area, like a campground. Some places make it illegal to camp. Some areas may be off-limits to campers, such as national parks or state parks. And some areas may be only open for certain types of camping, such as those that allow recreational vehicle usage.

Some Camp Sites are Dangerous

Recently, Instagram has been flooded with pictures of campsites and campers enjoying the outdoors. As a matter of fact, the image-sharing platform is almost always full of people having a good time while being in the great outdoors. However, this is not always the case. There are a lot of dangers that you can encounter if you will go in the wild and camp out. You need to be very particular with the places that you are going to visit when you are going to camp.
